Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Social Worker to join our team focused on supporting adolescents in the Reigate area. This role is pivotal in safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of young people through working with those facing unauthorised challenges in their lives. Responsibilities
- Assess and support adolescents who are at risk or have unauthorised absences from school or care.
- Develop and implement personalised care plans to promote safety, wellbeing, and positive outcomes.
- Collaborate with families, schools, healthcare professionals, and community services to provide holistic support.
- Advocate for the rights and needs of young people, ensuring their voices are heard and respected.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records in compliance with legal and organisational standards.
- Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings and training to continuously improve practice.
- Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion in all aspects of work, ensuring culturally sensitive and anti-discriminatory practice.
Qualifications
- Recognised qualification in Social Work (e.g., CQSW, DipSW, BA Social Work, or equivalent).
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Proven experience working with adolescents, particularly those experiencing unauthorised absences or similar challenges.
- Strong understanding of child protection legislation and safeguarding procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage young people from diverse backgrounds.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and reflective practice.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and build partnerships across agencies.
Day-to-Day
- Conduct home visits and meetings with young people and their families to assess needs and progress.
- Liaise regularly with schools and other agencies to monitor attendance and wellbeing.
- Record detailed notes and case updates digitally in a timely manner.
- Attend supervision sessions and contribute to team discussions and planning.
- Participate in community outreach and awareness campaigns promoting adolescent wellbeing and inclusion.
