Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Mental Health Social Worker to join our diverse and inclusive team. Responsibilities

  • Assess the mental health needs of clients and develop individualised care plans.
  • Provide counselling, support, and crisis intervention services.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, families, and community resources to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Advocate for clients rights and access to services, promoting social justice and equality.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with confidentiality and ethical standards.
  • Facilitate support groups and educational workshops to increase mental health awareness.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to continuous service improvement.
  • Stay informed about current mental health policies, legislation, and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Social Work or related field; relevant professional accreditation/license.
  • Experience working in mental health settings is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of mental health issues, social determinants of health, and trauma-informed care.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations, respecting cultural differences and promoting inclusively.
  • Commitment to ethical practice and ongoing professional development.
  • Proficient in maintaining confidentiality and managing sensitive information.

Day-to-Day

  • Conduct assessments and meet with clients both in-office and in community settings.
  • Coordinate with healthcare providers to organize treatment plans.
  • Document client progress and update case files regularly.
  • Respond to crisis situations with empathy and professionalism.
  • Attend team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills.
  • Engage with community organisations to build supportive networks.
  • Ensure accessibility of services for undeserved or marginalised groups.
