Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Educational Psychologist to join our diverse team in the South West region. As an Educational Psychologist, you will play a vital role in supporting children, young people, families, and educational settings to promote positive educational and emotional outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to identify educational and emotional needs.
  • Collaborate with schools, families, and other professionals to develop tailored intervention plans.
  • Provide advice and guidance on learning strategies, behavioural management, and mental health support.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and training sessions.
  • Advocate for equitable educational opportunities for all children, especially those with additional needs.
  • Contribute to service development by sharing insights and evidence-based practices.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential, and timely records in line with professional standards.

Qualifications

  • Doctorate in Educational Psychology or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or relevant regulatory body.
  • Experience working with children and young people with diverse educational, emotional, and behavioural needs.
  • Strong understanding of inclusive education principles and commitment to promoting equality and diversity.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaborative skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Day-to-Day

  • Engage directly with students, families, and educators to understand their unique contexts and challenges.
  • Administer and interpret various psychological assessments.
  • Develop and deliver training or workshops to school staff and other stakeholders.
  • Monitor and review intervention outcomes, adjusting approaches as needed.
  • Respond sensitively and professionally to complex and sometimes challenging situations.
  • Continuously update professional knowledge and skills to ensure best practice.
