Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Educational Psychologist to join our diverse and inclusive team in the South East region. This role focuses on supporting children, young people, families, and educational settings to promote emotional well-being and academic success. Responsibilities

  • Conduct psychological assessments for children and young people exhibiting a range of educational and emotional needs.
  • Collaborate with schools, families, and other professionals to develop tailored intervention plans.
  • Provide expert advice on strategies to support learning, behaviour, and mental health challenges.
  • Deliver training and workshops to educational staff on psychological and developmental topics.
  • Advocate for children's rights and promote inclusive practices within educational settings.
  • Maintain accurate, confidential records and prepare detailed reports.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings and case discussions.
  • Stay current with research and best practices within educational psychology.

Qualifications

  • A recognised qualification in Educational Psychology (Doctorate or equivalent).
  • Registration with an appropriate professional body (e.g., HCPC in the UK).
  • Demonstrated experience working in educational settings with diverse populations.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to promoting equity, diversity, and inclusion in all professional practices.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Understanding of safeguarding policies and procedures.

Day-to-Day

  • Meeting with children, parents, teachers, and other stakeholders to understand needs.
  • Conducting assessments using a range of psychological tools and methods.
  • Writing reports and recommendations following assessments.
  • Attending team meetings and planning sessions to coordinate support.
  • Delivering training sessions or consultations to educational staff.
  • Keeping up-to-date with relevant research and professional development opportunities.
  • Managing caseloads and prioritising tasks effectively to meet deadlines.
