Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Educational Psychologist to join our diverse team in the North West region. This role involves working collaboratively with children, families, schools, and communities to promote positive educational and developmental outcomes. Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychological assessments to identify learning, emotional, and behavioural needs of children and young people.
- Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to develop tailored intervention plans.
- Provide evidence-based advice on strategies to support children's learning and well-being.
- Address issues relating to unauthorised school absence by understanding underlying factors and advising on appropriate interventions.
- Facilitate training sessions and workshops for school staff on child development, behaviour management, and inclusion.
- Contribute to policy development aimed at enhancing educational equity and access within the region.
- Maintain accurate records and written reports in compliance with professional and ethical standards.
- Advocate for inclusive practices that respect cultural, social, and individual diversity.
Qualifications
- Professional qualification as an Educational Psychologist (e.g., Doctorate in Educational Psychology or equivalent).
- Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) or relevant governing body.
- Experience working with children and young people in educational settings.
- Knowledge of legislation and policies related to education, child protection, and safeguarding.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work sensitively with diverse communities.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and reflective practice.
- Understanding of issues related to unauthorised school absence and strategies to address them.
Day-to-Day
- Engaging directly with children and families to understand their unique needs and circumstances.
- Visiting schools and educational settings across the North West region to observe and assess.
- Collaborating with teaching staff and other professionals to design and implement support strategies.
- Holding meetings and consultations to review progress and adapt interventions.
- Preparing reports and documentation in a clear, accessible manner for various stakeholders.
- Participating in team meetings, supervision, and professional development activities.
- Promoting an inclusive, respectful, and welcoming atmosphere within all working environments.
